THE ENCHANTED GARDEN

On the JFK High School Campus
Mr. Danny Steiner, Sustainability Coordinator,

is the Enchanted Garden Coordinator.
The Enchanted Garden at the JFK HS Campus, in the Kingsbridge, Riverdale, Marble Hill sections of the Bronx.
Fortunately, our campus has a ¾ acre garden, with a greenhouse, rainwater catchment system, a wetland and a wooded ecosystem.
The students explore the ecology of the Enchanted Garden and help maintain it.
They grow fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers there. It is an oasis in the city.
We have received grants to build and maintain a Pollinator Garden.
We have a large composting operation as well. The garden has wildlife residents and visitors-Garter Snakes, Red-Tailed Hawks, squirrels, skunks, raccoons, groundhogs, rabbits, butterflies, bees many birds and other insects.
